ADECAGUAADECAGUA, with headquarters in Barcelona, is an association of water industry professionals whose basic objectives are: improving the transmission of technical know-how in the residual urban and industrial water processing; promoting adequate environmental management of water resources; advocating for governmental legislation to protect water quality in Spain; exchanging information and experiences between members and stakeholders; and promoting professionalism among water industry workers.ENO

Environment Online (ENO) is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development where schools around the world study environmental themes and share the results at local level and globally on the website. This free programme for schools was launched in 2000 and has now spread to over 100 countries and is administered by the city of Joensuu, Finland. ENO works in co-operation with UNEP and the university of Joensuu, as well as many international organisations and networks.

European Water Partnership (EWP) is supporting WWMD through their voluntary program Aquawareness which is the European Water Awareness and Water Stewardship Programme that works to create awareness, support the shift of mindset and support the change of behaviour and practices about water in Europe. EWP is an action-oriented open forum for all stakeholders including governmental agencies (local, national and European), knowledge institutes, private companies, non-governmental organisations, the public and private financial sector, end-users and civil society groups to exchange views, to find solutions for the water challenges in wider Europe and to stimulate partnerships.

Girl ScoutsGirl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—all girls—where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. Founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts' membership has grown from 18 members in Savannah, Georgia, to 3.7 million members throughout the United States, including U.S. territories, and in more than 90 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas.

Earth Day NetworkThe Global Water Network, a project of Earth Day Network, is a comprehensive resource to raise awareness about water issues and to raise funds to help build water and sanitation projects where they are needed most. From helping a rural community get its first well to providing toilets and hand-washing facilities for schools, the Global Water Network provides a way for people to make a difference. The Global Water Network is helping to spread the word about World Water Monitoring Day to its affiliates across the world.

Green TeacherGreen Teacher is a quarterly magazine that helps youth educators enhance environmental and global education inside and outside of schools. As a partner of World Water Monitoring Day, Green Teacher is advertising the program to its readership of over 15,000 educators in the United States and Canada. Issues of Green Teacher include ideas for rethinking education in light of environmental and global challenges; practical articles and ready-to-use activities for various age levels from 6-18; and evaluations of dozens of new books, kits, games and other green resources.

H2O for Life provides funds to directly support projects in developing countries designed to make clean water available and sustainable to schools in countries which are in need of water, sanitation and hygiene education (WaSH). Through service learning projects, U.S. partner schools raise the funds necessary to complete these projects, thereby bringing clean water to sister schools in developing countries. World Water Monitoring Day will be offered to H2O for Life schools as a project in which partnering schools in the U.S. and the developing world can participate, providing an additional opportunity for informational and cultural exchange.

Horizon TechnologyHorizon Technology is a leading US manufacturer of automated Sample Preparation Systems for the analysis of organic compounds in water samples. Our mission is to continually work towards assisting in the preservation, protection and improvement of our water quality. IYORThe ICRI International Year of the Reef 2008 is a worldwide campaign to raise awareness about the value and importance of coral reefs and threats to their sustainability, and to motivate people to take action to protect them. All individuals, corporations, schools, governments, and organizations are welcome and actively encouraged to participate in IYOR 2008. IYOR 2008 is pleased to partner with the World Water Monitoring Day to in a joint effort to highlight the importance of water quality to marine wildlife. The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), a global partnership of governments and organizations dedicated to halting and reversing the degradation of coral reefs and related ecosystems worldwide, has designated 2008 as the International Year of the Reef (IYOR 2008).

NACWA maintains a key role in the development of environmental legislation, and works closely with federal regulatory agencies in the implementation of environmental programs.

As a partner of World Water Monitoring Day, Plenty is advertising the program to its readership of over 200,000 people in the United States and Canada.

ASIWPCAState and Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators (ASIWPCA) is a national, nonpartisan professional organization. ASIWPCA members are the State, Interstate and Territorial officials who are responsible for the implementation of surface water protection programs throughout the nation. In addition to serving as a liaison among these officials, ASIWPCA facilitates their communication with the Federal government and promotes public education. Long before the enactment of the Clean Water Act, State and Interstate professionals were working to protect and improve water quality. They continue to lead the way in creating and realizing a vision for clean water in America.

SJWPStockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is an international competition for bright young scientists between the age of 15 and 20 years who have carried out a water-related project. Each year, over 30 countries join national competitions for the chance to represent their nation at the international final held during the World Water Week in Stockholm. The overall goal of the prize is to encourage young people’s continued interest in water and the environment.

GEMSUnited Nations GEMS/Water Programme is supporting WWMD and its activities through its youth initiative “Living on the Edge”. GEMS/Water Programme provides scientifically-sound data and information on the state and trends of global inland water quality required as a basis for the sustainable management of the world's freshwater to support global environmental assessments and decision-making processes.

WWFWorld Wildlife Fund in West African Marine Ecoregion (WWF WAMER) has an office in Dakar, Senegal and supports WWMD through its environmental education program. The region includes 6 countries: Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, and Guinea. The program wants to promote WWMD to schools, rolling it out into the region starting with Senegal.
